The King Tiger just wanted to see the Finnish winter
Arrangements for transporting the King Tiger back to England to its home base had already begun when we received an unexpected announcement. The Tank Museum’s King Tiger V2’s loan to the Parola Armour Museum in Finland will be extended until March 2024 due to the successful impact on the number of visitors for the museum. This was a pleasant surprise for us and was finally confirmed on September 28.
We are delighted that Königstiger's European tour continues. Since leaving The Tank Museum, Bovington in 2020, the King Tiger has been on loan to Arsenalen, The Swedish Tank Museum, and Nationaal Militair Museum in the Netherlands and now it will be on display at Parola for almost six months more until March 2024.
The Tank Museum is collaborating with military museums across Europe to tell the story of the King Tiger V2, enabling new audiences to learn about the history of armoured vehicles. People of The Tank Museum had been really impressed by how much interest the King Tiger has got and how it has brought a record number of visitors to the Armour Museum.
The Armour Museum want´s to thank everyone who has already visited the King Tiger and welcomes those who has not yet seen this legendary WWII tank.
If you are asking us, we think here that the King Tiger just wanted to see the Finnish winter…
